Judge Jones became a circuit court, criminal division judge in May of 2002.  Judge Jones holds a B.A. in Psychology (1976) and received his J.D. in 1979.  Prior to serving as a judge, he was a Deputy District Attorney for the 10th and 5th Judicial Circuits (1980 - 1985) and was in private practice (1985 - 2002).  Judge Jones is active in the Alabama Judges' Association and the Birmingham Bar Association.
