The Tenth Judicial Circuit of the Alabama State Court system consists of the Birmingham and Bessemer Divisions.  Information about the various judges, court personnel, filing fees and juror information can all be found on this website.

Please register with Alafile to receive free electronic notices and orders. There are no fees or ongoing charges for the registration and use of AlaFile for receipt of notices and orders.  All that is needed is a working e-mail address.  The registered attorney will receive court orders and notices immediately upon the entry of the order by the judge.  If the lawyer does not use e-mail, a member of his/her staff can register.

Effective September 4, 2020, parties or attorneys who have filed or do file unlawful detainer (eviction) actions in Jefferson County, Alabama, shall, by filing said action, certify to the Court the following:

By filing this unlawful detainer (eviction) action, Plaintiff (Landlord) or Plaintiff's attorney, if represented, certifies to the Court (1) the property at issue is not subject to a moratorium under the CARES Act, Pub. L. No. 116-136 § 4024 (2020); and (2) the Defendant (Tenant) has not executed and returned to Plaintiff a Declaration, pursuant to the Order issued by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 85 FR 55292, dated September 1, 2020, effective September 4, 2020, through December 31, 2020 (the "CDC Order"). If Plaintiff or Plaintiff's attorney receives a Declaration executed by Defendant pursuant to the CDC Order, Plaintiff or Plaintiff's attorney shall mail or email a copy of the Declaration to the Court to which the case is assigned within three (3) business days of Plaintiff's receipt of the Declaration. Filing the Declaration on Alacourt is not necessary and will not equate to mailing or emailing a copy of the Declaration to the Court to which the case is assigned.
