Judge Weston-Pickens was elected as a District Judge to the Tenth Judicial Circuit of Alabama for a full-term in November 2018 and sworn in January 15, 2019. Since taking the bench, she has served as a judge in both the criminal and civil divisions of Jefferson County. She serves as the Presiding Judge for the District Civil Division of Jefferson County and, serves as a special circuit judge assigned to hear cases brought under the Adult Protective Services Act and appeals of driver’s license suspension.
Judge Weston-Pickens, a Birmingham native and product of the Birmingham City Schools, graduated from the historic A.H. Parker High School, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management and Marketing from Birmingham Southern College and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Miles College School of Law.
Prior to taking the bench, Judge Weston-Pickens managed her on law practice WESTON-PICKENS, LLC, a general practice firm, handling criminal and civil cases. Before that she was employed by one of the largest public utilities companies for almost sixteen (16) years.
Judge Weston-Pickens is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association, Alabama District Judges Association, the Women’s Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association, the judicial councils of the National Bar Association, Alabama Lawyers Association and the Magic City Bar Association, The Birmingham Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, The Birmingham Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and a member of The Fellowship House Board or Directors. She is a former board member of Focus on Recovery and the Jefferson County Department of Human Resources.
